Test Simulations 2: Drogue Simulations

Below are two simulations involving the release of neutral density, zero mass drogues. Velocities from the channel bathymetry simulations were used.

Single release at multiple locations:

Drogues were released at four locations at time zero, then followed for the next four tidal cycles (approx. 50 hr). Contours show bathymetry and arrows show tidal velocities. Click image for mpeg movie (2.1 MB).

Multiple releases at single location:

Drogues were released at one location (5.5, 8), but at every 24 min (approx.). A drogue is terminated when it touches any model boundary. Click image for mpeg movie (2.2 MB).
